| October 29-31, Camping Trip to Camp Pouch - First full blown "regular" camping trip of the new scout year. The first two trips were special, the planning weekend where the scouts plan their activities for the entire year and the second one was all about the 90th anniversary celebration. The new members finally were able to experience normalcy, if you can call it that. The scouts woke up on Saturday morning, made breakfast and cleaned up. The morning was spent on advancements. Many of the new scouts were able to learn and pass needed requirements for the Tenderfoot and Second Class ranks. After a quick lunch of soup and sandwiches it was time for some fun. The archery range was open and all the scouts got to spend a great deal of time with a bow and arrow. They were taught archery and range safety and were then allowed to shoot to their hearts content. Some of the new scouts quickly developed a good feel for the sport and had some very good shooting sessions. |
